Decorating our home is always exciting and having one that is cozy and inviting makes for both an enjoyable and memorable place. We want our rooms to be inviting and feel comfortable and by just changing or adding a few items, we can achieve the essence of comfort and the balance of harmony.

What makes us feel comfortable and at ease when we enter a room? When we think about a cozy and relaxed space, often what comes to our minds is a place where we feel contained and where we can feel cuddled and in-touch. Many elements can contribute to achieving these feelings and below we will explore 6 of them.

  1. Setting the background: Warm colors

The walls set the background atmosphere of any space. For this, warm colors are perfect, as they are inviting, happy and cozy, making us feel cared and accompanied. Warm colors include reds, yellows and oranges. They can also be combined with more neutral colors to give a sense of closeness and set the space ready for the decoration to play its role.

2. Barefoot sensing: a rug

Walking into any room in a home in a winter day and stepping onto a soft rug barefoot can really make you feel cozy and warm. Rugs can help define your space by adding an inviting vibe and they can help pull together your other components in your favorite room.

3. Texturizing it: Cushions and throw blankets.

Nothing says cozy like some cushions and blankets.. Using elements that have texture to decorate a room, will instantly give you the warmth and coziness you are craving for. Indulge yourself with the experience of touching and feeling pleasant textures. Include several cushions to cuddle up with, in different sizes and caressing materials brings the sensing qualities to your living room. Adding a blanket with patterns or ethnic designs will also add a visual appeal to any space while creating a cozy feeling.

4. Welcoming string lights.

Turn off the main light and create a magical cozy space by draping shimmery string lights over curtains or hand them around a window frame or place them in a clear glass jar in a corner… just let your imagination run!! The warm and cozy feeling you create will make you not want to leave your living room.

5.Warm lighting with pillar and taper candles.

In addition to adding great decorating accents in any room in your home, candles can create quite a relaxing experience. Make your room feel and look warm and welcoming by placing your favorite candles around the room. Choose your favorite scent that you know will relax you, and put it on display. Not only will the smell make your room feel cozy, but the gentle flickering of the candle will put you at ease. If scent is not your thing, just using unscented candles will achieve the same effect, especially if you want to use candles for a romantic and cozy dinner.

6. Get inspired!

The most important part of feeling good in your surrounding is loving your home. With a minimum amount of effort, a warm and cozy living space is not only entirely achievable but also inexpensive too. Just with a few changes, you will quickly transform your house into a cozy and inviting oasis of relaxation for both you and your guests. Your home must fundamentally reflect who you are, and everything else will fall into place.
